Local Motion Dance Studio, one of Salt Lake City’s premier dance studios, offers a wide range of dance classes for all ages. With a focus on Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical/Contemporary, among others, young dancers get a well-rounded experience learning many different forms of dance. With a strong Pre-K to High School curriculum, our dancers are prepared to compete at a high school level and beyond. With the studio located in the northwest region of South Jordan, Utah we mainly service families in the southwest area of the Salt Lake Valley; however, we have families that are part of our dance family that live substantially further away.
Local Motion Dance Studio was established in 1984 by Diane Hawker, who owns/operates the business today in conjunction with her daughter, Katie Lombardi. Every dancer in our studio is important to us and we strive to fit each dancer in a team and position that will help them thrive. At Local Motion Dance Studio, the team is as equally as important as each individual, and we try to help each dancer reach their individual potential while also helping the whole team progress.

We provide a healthy, happy, safe environment for our students to be instructed in the art of dance. We believe that through participation in our program, our dancers will learn many life skills that they will carry with them throughout their lives. Our dancers learn the value of hard work, self-confidence, discipline, dependability, respect for others, responsibility, self-motivation, and teamwork. Our students make life-long friendships as they learn these skills together. We are a competitive studio, and we believe that competition helps motivate our dancers to reach their ultimate potential. We also feel that dance is a performance art, and competing offers another venue for our students to share their talents. We also believe that each student deserves to be treated with respect and appreciation to his or her contribution to their class or team.
